New Year's Eve Party Ideas

Was last year's New Year's Eve celebration less than stellar? Friends a little iffy on répondez s'il vows plaît (RSVPing)? Give your guests something to look forward to this year! Here are a few great themes to get your guests excited and anticipating the welcoming of the new year.

Casino Royale
Delve into your hidden persona of James Bond and his sexy vixens by having a casino night. Clothes fit for a soiree only please. Hire professionals or friends to play as dealers and have yourself a blast. Either play with real money or funny money. If it's funny money, be sure to include an area for guest's to exchange for fun prizes. Of course, do not forget those shaken martinis.

White Wonderland
Bring inside some of the winter fun by having a white wonderland party. Everyone must wear black. Just kidding. White only please!!! And I'm talking about everything. Table linens, candles, decorations, food, attire, etc etc. Then at midnight, poppers and glitter of every color will be sure to create a beautiful contrast.

Masquerade Ball

While the ball gowns are note required, it would be fun to have masks, feathers, and sequins galore. While I'm sure everyone will know one another, having the mask on always adds a sense of fun and concealment to the event.

Slumber Party

This is my personal favorite. Who doesn't love to go back in time to slumber parties? Have everyone come in onesies or their favorite superhero jammies. Not only will everyone be comfortable and relaxed, but it is a perfect time for fun Kinect, Wii, or Playstation games. There won't be any heels getting in the way that's for sure!

Other Ideas

Invitations

Make sure the invitations reflect the party. You don't have to spend a whole lot to make them! Visit a craft store and make a small but creative invitation that will definitely have your guests excited to RSVP.

Create A Backdrop

So your guests are dressed up and spiffy, design a section of a wall to act as a backdrop for pictures. Even better, include a box of fun props and wearables for your guests to put on during picture time. Don't worry about a camera and the investment of paying someone to snap the pictures. People's phone cameras will work just peachy. You won't regret it. These pictures will be proof that next year's bash will be just as fun.

Best Natural Oils For Your Hair

Natural oils have been the talk of hair care for several years now, and since the trend of this ingredient has seriously taken over the hair industry, many more natural oils have been introduced. Although the variety and options are always fabulous, it can make it extremely difficult when trying to figure out exactly what kind of natural oils are the best for your hair. Alas, you have this post that breaks down the most beneficial haircare natural oils that you can find across the vast hair industry.

ARGAN OIL
This is one of the first natural oils that was introduced into the hair care world. It is often referred to as the Miracle Oil because it has plenty of benefits for your entire health. For example, it is a natural sunscreen, heat protected and a serious repair therapy. With that said, if you are looking for a natural oil that serves many purposes, Argan Oil is definitely the one for you. When used specifically for your hair, it will improve the elasticity of dry hair which will reduce frizziness and repair the damage.

COCONUT OIL
This is another kind of natural oil that has several different purposes. Coconut oil is the secret of hair growth, as well as healthy hair and a healthy scalp. It is a product that many females swear by and you will definitely enjoy the fabulous look that this oil will provide. It will take care of dry, damaged hair and will encourage a healthier and natural shine and vitality.

GRAPESEED OIL
Grapeseed oil is popular because it is odorless and not greasy at all. It also works as a natural sunscreen but is fabulous for hair and scalp treatment as well. It will restore the scalp's balance and works as an anti-dandruff treatment - Completely naturally. In addition, it will also help repair and strengthen your hair to deter any future damage.

TEA TREE OIL
It can be hard to get past the smell of tea tree oil, but once you do, you will be happy that you did. This natural hair oil will soothe itchy scalp problems and will also encourage the healthiest, sexiest hair possible. Since Tea Tree Oil has anti bacterial and anti fungal properties, it also cleanses your hair. People also use tea tree oil to deter lice!

SHEA BUTTER
You probably love this product for your skin (body lotions), but Shea Butter also works wonders for your scalp and hair. Warm this product up and give yourself a moisturizing hair care therapy session. Although some may not consider this to be a natural oil, it is one that you definitely appreciate having in your hair care counter of your bathroom.

At the end of the day, you truly can't go wrong with natural oils for your hair. However, these best natural ingredients should help you find the products that you're looking for - And more importantly, that will have your hair looking as fabulous as possible.

New Years Oufit

Hello ladies, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas surrounded by your loved ones, and I hope Santa brought all of you everything you had asked for. For today's blog I would like to discuss New Year' Eve attire.

The Bright: Okay ladies, what better way to welcome the New Year than by shinning bright? Wear sequences and sparkles; be ready to take on the New Year with excitement. I have seen some very cute dresses that have a gold sequence top and a black bottom, they are very cute and not too pricy.

Romper: Okay, welcome the New Year with a sexy look, wear a tight romper that compliments your figure; black, as I always say is very elegant and it goes with everything. So try a black romper and throw on some fuchsia heels and gold accessory. Again decorate your nails with some glittery polish and you are more than set for the night.

Dress Pants: Okay, one thing every women should know is that one cannot go wrong with dress pant. Every woman should owe a pair dress pants. They are elegant and they look lovely with pumps. They complement every figure. All you need to do is wear a pretty top and voila. Always keep in mind that just because you’re wearing dress pants it does not mean you are dressed to go to the office. Dress pants are not just work attire, they make great fashion statements.

Leggings: Of course leggings are always in fashion and they always go good with a pretty long top. If you’re planning on spending New Years at your own place that could be cute outfit to wear for pictures.

Okay ladies that is all I have for you guys today. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, as it is the last weekend of the year. I can’t believe how fast this year went by! Anyways, I hope you all have a wonderful year end celebration, and may 2014 have a wonderful start for you all.

Best Affordable Heat Protection Sprays For All Hair

Stop frying your hair, ladies. You know that you aren't going to stop using your heat products such as your curling irons and wands, so start investing some time to protecting your hair prior to placing such items on your locks. There are tons of heat protection hair sprays that will not break your budget, and that will deter your hair from doing the same as well. Do not skip out on this part of your hair care. Hair protectant sprays add a layer on your hair that won't weight it down or cause a film. More importantly, it will take the brunt of the burn (heat) that comes from your products, leaving your hair healthier and looking just the same.

A PERSONAL FAVORITE
KQC Thermal Shine Spray is my personal favorite heat protection spray. It has no perfume so it doesn't mess with the aroma of your shampoo, conditioners and other hair care products. It is ion enriched polishing complex that has been designed for protection against superior heat protection while also adding an incredible, healthy shine to your hair. As mentioned, it is lightweight and non-greasy, so protecting your hair and eliminating the frizz won't drag your locks down.

FROM THE DRUGSTORE
Aussie Hair Insurance Heat Protecting Shine Spray is one of the more affordable options that can be found at your local drugstore. The Aussie brand is probably one of the most popular choices as they prove to work. The heat protection styling spray will not deter the healthy shine in your hair and will not add a film or gunk to your locks, as long as you use the proper amount. Just like hair spray, too much will cause inevitable build up. This mist guards against the hot styling tools that strip your locks of the natural oils that it needs to shine.

FOR AFRICIAN AMERICAN HAIR
Carol's Daughter Macadamia Heat Setting Foam probably has caught your attention because it has that incredible word, 'Macadamia' in the product name. This product is a creamy foam made specifically for African American hair texture. It has won a Best of Beauty award as a result. It contains macadamia oil and honey extract which allows your split ends to be sealed and smoothed. Bouncy, protected curls are definitely provided when this product is used.

FOR COLOR TREATED
L'Oréal Color Vibrancy Dual Protect Spray does exactly what it says. It is designed specifically to protect your hair from heat products without degrading the value and appearance of your dye job. There would be no point in using a product that does one benefit but strips one away at the same time, so never opt for a non-color treated product when you have dyed your hair. Your color will fade. With this product, your hair will be conditioned to help the vibrancy of your hair dye to be enhanced while also protecting your hair against heat.

Whatever kind of hair texture, color or style you have, these hair heat protection sprays will protect your locks without breaking your budget.

5 Of The Worst Things We Do To Our Hair

You don't have to be a brain surgeon to figure out that there are tons of awful things that we do to our hair. It's kind of odd considering we love it so much yet put it through so many treacherous situations. Here are the 5 worst things that we do to our hair. Maybe once we figure out exactly what it is that we're doing to damage our hair we will be able to re-evaluate our hair care routines!

Using Old Styling Tools
Not only should you be keeping your hair styling tools clean, but you should also be replacing them often. It's recommended that you remove the hair after every use and clean the brushes thoroughly approximately once a week.  However, if you can't remember when you purchased your last hair styling tool then it is definitely time to replace it.

Using Worn Out Hair Elastic
Thank the hair heavens for creating hair elastics that don't have metal on them. You should always steer clear of any hair ties that have anything other than fabric on them. This will cause damage to your strands while encouraging breakage. When it comes to hair clips, be gentle when putting them in your hair. Anything too tight will break your hair which results in frizzies and split ends.

Skipping Heat Protectant
Don't do it! This is a product for a reason and you need to use it. If you aren't willing to retire your heat irons, then definitely put a heat protectant in your hair prior to use. This will line your hair so the damage you're putting on your hair isn't so intense. The less heat you can expose to your locks, the better. So take the two seconds that it takes to spritz some heat protectant on prior to putting your hair on blast.

Waiting Too Long
Believe it or not but you should actually be getting your hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks. A lot of females don't do this which results in a lot of dry split ends. The best way to keep your hair looking and feeling healthy is to always get your hair trimmed on a regular basis. The good thing is that hair trims usually don't cost that much money so you should be able to squeeze this one into your hair care routine and budget. Don't worry... Dead ends don't add length. In fact, trimming your hair will encourage faster growth.

Brushing From the Roots Down
This is one thing that people often don't think twice about. How many times do you brush your hair from the roots down and you run into tons of snags? Well did you know that with each snag you're actually breaking your hair? It's an awful habit to get into, so try to start at the bottom as you work out your hair knots and then gradually work up to the roots.

These 5 things are the most common culprits to damaging our hair and we all do it way too often!

Shellac Nails

Hello ladies, I hope you have all had a wonderful week. With school over and Christmas around the corner, it is definitely the best time of the year. For today's blog I want to talk about Shellac nails, this nail trend is so in right now, and I’ve heard so many women talk about how wonderful this type of manicure is, so I though, I need to check it out for myself. Anyways, let's take a further look into what all the fuss is about.

So what is it? Shellac is a type of nail polish that lasts up to three weeks! Yes, you can do dishes, clean, go swimming, cook, ect, ect,  without having to worry about your nails chipping. Its wonderful, and very convenient for most women.

Advantages: Okay, besides not having to do your nails for weeks, it also helps strengthen them. Now that is a bargain! It keeps your nails strong, which mean you don’t have to worry about investing in other products to help you strengthen your nails.

Where is this Polish Available? Well ladies, you can get your nails done at the salon and ask for the shellac manicure. The shellac mani is very similar to having acrylic nails, as they both keep the nails looking strong, durable, and beautiful. The major difference however is that the Shellac polish is applied to your actual nail. This nail Polish is also available on many cosmetic websites. I suggest you check this product out. On top of it all, these pushes are very reasonable in price.

Alright ladies, that concludes today's blog. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy this holiday season and go out there and have fun doing your X-mas shopping; heyyy, maybe you can get the shellac polish for someone, or add it to your wish list, hahahah. Have a good one.

Tips For Getting Fabulous Curls

When it comes to hair styles, you can never have too many tips that will keep you away from looking like you've just walked out of the 90s era or like a frump. This is especially true with curls. There are so many things that can mess up the look, as curls can be frizzy, crimpy and turn out anything from what you were intending for them to. As mentioned previously, my favourite kind of curls come from hot rollers. I like to use the Baby Bliss hot roller system because they work amazingly and come in 4 different sizes. Here are some tips that will help you achieve the modern look of this season's curls.

Where To Place Each Size
The best advice that I ever received in regards to using hot rollers to curl my hair was where to place each size. This will deter too many curls around your face as well as the possibility of the curls weighing your hair down flat. Place 2-3 of the largest rollers are the front of your hair; in your bangs and sides. Then, use the next largest size of hot rollers and line the top of your hair back to the crown. This will ensure that you have volume. You will also want to use this size at the sides underneath the largest size that you put in previously. Then, start putting the hot rollers in your hair and work your way down. If you have to mix in some smaller versions, try to space them out in between, and keep them in the middle and ends.

Steer Clear of the Smallest
As briefed upon in the previous step, you want to avoid using the smallest as much as possible, at least when it comes to the top and front of your hair. They will produce tight curls that aren't on trend, however that doesn't mean that you can't use them. As mentioned, as long as you use them sporadically and no where near the front of top of your head. This will promote a 90s inspired perm look and the appearance is certainly outdated.

Don't Brush Out
Never brush out your curls. This is just an awful idea and all of your work will be ruined. Instead, take out the rollers and let your curls fall as they may. Squeeze some hair serum into your hair and use your fingers to fluff your hair and to place the curls where you want them. Finish with a spray and your look will be flawless.

Curls can be tricky but with these tips, you will be left with a stunning picturesque look that will look like it took hours to make. In reality, these kind of hot roller curls only takes 15 minutes at most! The majority of time is spent heating them and leaving them in your hair to cool and set the style.

Christmas Outfits

Hello ladies. I hope you have all had a wonderful week. For today's blog I would like to discuss some possible Christmas outfits that could be worn during this most celebrated season. These are just some ideas, but to each her own. Let's take further look.

The Cozy: Alright, if you're planning on spending Christmas with your family and want to make it traditional and memorable. I definitely suggest wearing the cozy Christmas sweaters. Especially if you love in a cold place, the sweater works wonders. And let's face it, it’s not every day one can show the Christmas spirit.

The Classic: Okay, if you're going to a Christmas dinner, you can rock a classy red dress. Red is the color to wear for Christmas, it is festive and very elegant. Wear the dress with some black or gold shoes and you're more than good to go. As many of you already know, you can never go wrong with black. Black is classy, elegant, and complementary to the figure. So, if you have no time to decide, pull out that little black dress from your closet and style it. Wear red heels with gold jewelry. Just style the dress for the occasion.

The Comfy: Okay, if you're planning on staying out and partying all night long. I definitely suggest being comfortable. It will be the only way to get through the night. I suggest wearing leggings and a pretty black top (as we discussed, one can never go wrong with black). For shoes you may wear wedge color boots. Red of course works, but fuchsia looks killer. It would make for a great look, and a comfy Christmas night.

Okay my friends; those are all the ideas I have for you today. I hope you all enjoy this upcoming weekend, and please remember to keep warm if it's cold we're you live; until next time.
