Aidding Your Digestion

There are certain times when you feel like you’re not digesting your food very well. Your stomach either feels bloated, you feel gassy or you experience cramps. All these things indicate bad digestion. And let’s face it; no one enjoys feeling like that. You know the saying, you are what you eat? Well it’s very true. The things you eat will either help your digestion or destroy it.  If you are really truthful with yourself you know that eating junk food is no good. In today’s blog I want to discuss some of the things you can include to help aid your digestion (especially if you have a slow metabolism). Let’s take a look.

H20: Water is essential to human life, not only does it keep you hydrated but it also helps lubricate your digestive tract and helps move all the excess minerals out your body. Water is definitely a must have. It is essential to have about eight glasses of water per day.

Plums, Prunes, and Raisins: I personally love plums, not only are they tasty but they help you digest. If you don’t like them, try out some prunes or raisins. Mix them in with your food. I love adding some flavor to my cereal so I throw in some raisins. You may also choose to add raisin in your pastry, or have them with some nuts.

Tea: Alright, you probably already guessed what kind of tea helps the metabolism. Green Tea! This tea is amazing! And they if you’re not a fan of the actual tea, there are a lot of treats that are made from it, so there is no excuse.

Digestive Cookies: I recently tried these myself and they are delicious, efficient, and very in expensive. And by the way, they are very good with tea or coffee. These cookies are also good for snacking because they are not high in calories.

Probiotics: Probiotics do awesome things for your digestive tract; they increase the intestines microbes, protecting it from pathogens. This means that they too will aid your digestion. Yogurt is very well known for having probiotics, but did you know there are tons of foods that are also filled with probiotics? Some of these foods include olives, pickles, cheese, sourdough bread, popcorn, and my personal favorite dark chocolate!

Okay ladies, that is all I have for you today . I hope you find these tips helpful. Once again remember it’s very important to take care of your body, it’s your own personal home; therefore make sure you treat it right. I’ll leave you with that in mind. Have a great weekend.
