Getting The Perfect Hair Extensions For You

Finding the ultimate hair extensions for you can be challenging. Aside from the obvious of finding a perfect color match, there are some things that you need to consider before working your new set of locks out and about. There's nothing worse than an obvious hair set (Britney Spears is a huge culprit of this!), or having your hair fall out in the middle of the dance floor. Oh, how awful! Make sure to keep these things close in mind when fixing yourself up for a cut night out on the town with an added set of volume and length.

Is Your Hair Stylist A Hair Extension Pro?
If you are getting your hair done at a salon, and wear hair extensions regularly, make sure your hair stylist is well aware of this. You also need to make sure that she knows what she's doing when it comes to managing extensions, whether it be dying them to fit a new color, or styling them for a certain updo. Your hair stylist should definitely be a pro because working with hair extensions isn't something that can just be picked up within a few seconds. That's also not to mention that you totally deserve someone who knows what they're doing. It's your hair, after all! No room for faulty, right? On the bright side, since hair extensions are so popular in today's look, it's very odd to find a hair stylist that hasn't styled hair with extensions in it previously, so you should be perfectly okay. Don't just assume though and make sure that your hair stylists is a hair extension pro.

Find A Fit Perfect For You
There are so many kinds of hair extensions and the main difference is synthetic hair and real hair. This will also determine the price you're looking at on the tag, as well as the feel of the clip in hair extensions once they're completed. If you don't think you're going to wear them ever again, take this into consideration prior to purchasing. However, you'll most likely fall in love with the added length, volume and texture and want to wear them on other occasions as well, so that's another thing to consider. Real hair extensions are typically the better option, only a tad bit more expensive. Clip in hair extensions, as opposed to sewn in hair extensions are often the better option for styling your hair into a certain updo. Explore the options with your hair stylist because if you followed the previous step, you'll be taken care of without any worry.

Color can definitely be a hassle especially if you're rocking your natural tone because often times, hair extensions whether real or fake, clip in's or sewn on are chemically treated with a fabulous hair dye to ensure all strands look fabulously fresh. When your hair is natural, you often can't buy it in a box or opt for that exact color at the hair salon because well, it's natural! Choose wisely, ladies.

  1. I do not like when someone tells me they have been doing hair extensions for 20+ years, yet they do not know how to apply certain hair extensions, just because they are not used to them. Such as tape ins. There are ones that you heat to apply and ones that you don't. Some hair stylist are way over their head, don't apply the hair right and then their customer complains and the stylist try to blame it on bad quality hair when infact, they were the ones who put the hair in wrong.
