First Impression: Meeting his Parents

Welcome back to Monday. Let’s all hope for a productive and stress free week. In today's blog we will talk about first impression with the in laws. Meeting the in laws can be quite nerve wrecking, especially if you really like the person you're with. And then again every person is different; therefore different parents have different opinions and expectations for who their child dates. One thing is for sure though, all parents wants what's best for their children. Therefore, today I want to share with you some basic information on how to prepare for your first encounter with the in laws.

Background Information: Okay, having an idea of what your boyfriend’s parents are like in certainly helpful. You definitely don't want to jump in a river if you don't want to jump in a river if you do know how to swim. When you go on a date ask him about his parents, ask him basic things, just to get an idea of what they are like. That way when you visit with them you will have an idea of what you can expect.

Outfit: Alright, when it comes to your outfit you want to make sure it's parent appropriate. Parents tend to be more conservative than their kids, therefore it's important not to wear something too revealing. At the same time however you don't want to wear anything too formal if you're are just visiting with them. Dressing simple and cute is always best. First impressions sure leave a lot to say, especially to the parents of your loved one.

Conversation: Starting a conversation is not as tricky as keeping one. Maintaining the conversation can be very difficult if the parents are quite! Believe me. However I can promise you that it will get better with time. When you first meet them, you want to talk about basic things about yourself, such as what you do (school wise or work wise). Another thing you can talk about is your boyfriend; you can ask his parents how he was like as a child, what sort of trouble did he cause? Haha. Asking parents about their children usually gets them in a chatty mood. So ladies, if you have absolutely nothing to talk about with them, resort to these measures!

Okay, there you have it my friends. I hope you find these tips helpful if you are planning on meeting your in laws anytime soon. Have a wonderful week.
