Holiday Drinks

It is that time of year again in where everyone is busy buying gifts and food for the Xmas celebration. And boy do people enjoy this time of year. But while everyone is caught up on prepping the dinner and wrapping the gifts more often than not they forget that traditional Xmas drinks! So this year ladies I leave it to you not to forget. These drinks of course are not meant to be drunk during the dinner but they are meant to be served as refreshments or as a dessert drink. Let’s take a look at what some of these holiday drinks are.

Eggnog: This is my favorite drink; I can't get enough of it! You can drink eggnog on its own or mix it up with coffee (it’s very yummy if you add it it in your coffee, and you can add as much or as little eggnog as you feel comfortable with. And since its sweet enough there is no need for sugar). But if you really want to get kick out of the Xmas celebration then I suggest you make eggnog shots! You would add in the eggnog first and then add the brandy. Try it out. Cheers.

Apple cider: This other famous holiday drink really says it’s Xmas. Hot apple cider is so good and very simple to make(remember you can always alter the recipe depending on how many people you are serving). This particular recipe serves 4-5 people. Here is what you will need to use
 -one bottle of apple cider
 -2-3 cinnamon sticks
-one teaspoon of all spice and whole cloves
 -1/3 of brown sugar

Peppermint drinks: There are two exquisite drinks you can make with peppermint, peppermint coffee and peppermint hot chocolate. Both of these drinks are delicious, believe me you just can’t get enough. This is what you would need to use:
 peppermint coffee:
       - 8 cups of brewed coffee
       - 2 cups of peppermint schnapps
       - adding chocolate liqueur is optional
       - to top it off add some whipped cream

peppermint hot chocolate:
    -1/2 cup whole milk
    -1/4 cup heavy cream
     - crushed peppermint candy ( add as many as you would like, make sure you can taste it though)
      - 1/2 cup of milk chocolate finely chopped into grains.

Alright ladies there you have it, these are the ultimate holiday drinks. Try making some of these delicious drinks during this time of year. I can guarantee that you won’t be the only one that loves them but your family and friends will too. Enough talking, go and celebrate, and have a happy Xmas!
