Choosing the right hair brush can feel beyond overwhelming. It seems like you have a million and one hair brush brands staring down at you, with different colours, different bristles, different shapes and they all claim to be the best on the market. If only we could go back to the days of being five years old and not knowing how important a good brush is, right? The days where we would use whatever mommy or daddy handed to us. Well, there's no point in living in the past. We're older and we're wiser and hey, if I had known the importance of a good hair brush at the age of five, I would have opted for something other than the $2 comb that my far from knowledgable, short-haired parents had. Oh, the olden days when you didn't have the internet to tell you everything that you need to know about life, eh? Thank gawd for the invention of  the wonderful world of the web so we can now learn the top three things to remember when choosing the perfect hair brush!

First, when choosing a hair brush, you have to keep your needs in mind. Whether you're looking for a hair brush to curl, or a hair brush to straighten, or something simply to detangle your locks, there's most certainly a brush for you so don't panic when you walk down the hair aisle, or hair tab for you internet savvy, online shop lovers.

You want to think of the type of bristles that you want. Each have different price points and you can get a brush for as low as $1, and as high as $100! Now, don't panic, ladies. You can most certainly get a great hair brush for a lot less than that and it all depends on the type of bristles your brush has. You can get nylon, plastic, metal and even boar bristles! It all depends on your needs of the hairbrush so brush up on your bristle knowledge before you shop for your next hair brush!

Now, let's be serious, there are a heck of a lot of hair brush style out theres and if we went through all of them today, well.... it'd take a lot more than just one day. Instead, I have categorized the hair brush styles into four categories and they are; the classic brush, the vented brush, the round brush and the cushion brush. You need to know what each style of hair brush offers, so you can choose the right one for you.

If all else fails, then read the brush. If it's worth your purchase, the packaging should definitely tell you what the hair brush is meant to do, how it's done and directions on achieving your goals. Have your budget in mind, follow these tips and read the label and well, you're well on your way to choosing the perfect hair brush for you, and well, plenty of good hair days are in your near future, that's for sure!
