Snuggle Up For the Holidays

What I love about the holidays is
the fact that everything is about bundling up, staying warm and snuggling with the one that you love. And, that is why I love to have everything soft, snuggly and warm on hand during this time of year. Some great ideas to have around the house during this chilly time of year are gorgeously bright throws in a bold color or a fun print. Throws are an easy way to stay warm and cuddly when watching a movie, reading a book or simply draped around your shoulders as you drink a cup of hot cocoa. And, many throws are not too expensive either, so feel free to buy a coordinating throw for every room in your home. Another item to have on hand during the holidays are scented candles in bright winter and holiday colors, such as dark red, green, white, silver and of course, gold, if you can find it. Scented and colorful candles are perfect for adding a warm glow to your entire home; put them in groups together on your mantle, in the bathroom and just about anywhere you want a nice, warm glow that is also sweet smelling! And, because of the wonderful scented factor, colorful candles will make your whole house start smelling like the holidays as soon as you light them. Pick up some amazing scented candles in spicy cinnamon, sweet vanilla, yummy banana bread, or any other sweet scent that reminds you of the holidays and this time of year. Many of these colorful and scented candles can also be bought for very affordable prices at discount stores, so keep your eyes open and remember to stock up on a ton of them when you do find them at a worthy sale price.

Another item that I always like to keep on hand during this time of year to stay warm is a pair of fur lined snuggly slipper boots. Everywhere you look these days, there are different designs of slipper boots that are full of color and texture and come in all shapes and sizes. I recommend getting a pair that are roomy enough for you to feel comfortable in and hit at least around the calf area of your legs. Slipper boots are one of the most amazingly comfortable things that you can ever slip on your feet and you can also feel snuggly and toasty when wearing them even if the temperature drops outside. So, pick up a pair or a few cute pairs of cuddly slipper boots to wear around your house and you will be cozier than you ever thought possible during this chilly time of year. And, of course, during the holidays, warm drinks are quintessential to have ready for when you need to warm up. The best drinks during the holidays and the winter time is warm apple cider, hot cocoa, hot tea and even yummy coffee drinks that you are able to make at home such as a café latte.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

The Break

Have you ever been in a relationship in where your boyfriend suggests going on a break? And then wondered why is he asking me for this break, what's going on? And then you've thought "yeah our relationship has been a little rocky at times but we shouldn't be going on a break, that's not working out our issues." Well unfortunately there are numerous factors why a guy would ask you to go on a break; some may be for selfish reasons while others may be to ponder on some thoughts. If he really needs a break and you're willing to give him one here are things you should do and consider.

Ground Rules: State what you both expect out of this break, how long are you guys planning on going on this break? (Make sure you both agree on the duration). You also want to make sure that just because you're going on a break it doesn't give him the right to go out and test the waters (same goes for you of course). If this is his excuse for wanting a break, say bye bye. You need a guy to treat you right and you as a woman need to give yourself your place!

Where Does Your Relationship Stand? Over the past little while how have you and your boyfriend gone about things? Have you guys been fair to each other? If you really love and care for one another but are having a hard time understanding each other's points of views, sometime apart is good. It will give you both a chance to focus on different things, to analyze yourself and then think on what you can do differently to strengthen your relationship.  The saying "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" is actually very true when you have spent time away from your significant other.

Party it Up With Your Girls:
Ladies go have fun with your girlfriends it's a necessity! Don't let your boyfriend part you from them.  It’s good to balance things out, that's the key to a good relationship. You don't want your boyfriend to be the only person you spend time with. In other words don’t make him the centre of your world, this could lead him to feel suffocated; boys will be boys and it’s in their nature to be afraid of commitment. Your girls on the other hand have always been there for you, so make sure you’re always there for them too! Make the time; balance, balance, balance.

Okay ladies, these are just some tips on how to deal with a “break” and things you can do during the “break”. But truthfully many things can happen during this time. You may all of the sudden realize that you are happier without him and that you have been missing out on other things, or you may realize that he is your ideal guy and you want do whatever it takes to make your relationship work. In the end the break will help you see things in a way you would have never seen otherwise. It will reveal how you both feel about each other and whether the relationship is worth another shot.

Change in You: Knowing Yourself

“Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.”
                                                                         ― Dalai Lama

I wake up in bed, I stare at the sunlight...I ask myself what I'll be wearing today and if it's going to be a good day or not. I have my on and off days but today is the day where I need change.  I've been lingering on with the same situation over and over again that I haven't done anything for myself... This is it I thought...This is when I'll thinking of me and no one else.  What makes me happy? Is it shopping? Is it Yoga? Is it running? Or is it love? I love all of those but as of now, I need to start thinking of loving myself first! Self esteem needs self assurance.  I know it's difficult comparing yourself to someone else because wanting to be better feels good to the ego, but accepting you're not shows pride.

This topic is all about change. Am I happy with myself? Life sometimes gets repetitive and routine starts getting boring...Do something different. Whether it's getting a new piercing, or buying a new dress, it's okay to show off once in a while. It's about excitement and having something different and refreshing. Don't be afraid to spend a little money on things you'll feel good about having. I haven't done anything for myself for the longest time but recently I wanted to get a hair do. I'm bored with my hair so I'm thinking of changing the color and cut. It's crazy how much hair can change a look.

Have a night with friends, whether it's girls night or a movie, whatever it is laugh more often.  I know saying to forget about current problems is hard, but realize the laughter and joy all around! Happiness is a direction, not a place.  If you can, get some sun!! Psychological fact: People who enjoy being out in the sun are more likely to be happier.  Happier people are more likely to fall inlove, because their happiness makes other people happy.

Start thinking of all the good things in life and focus only on those. If stress ever comes to mind, it's healthy to write it down, tell a friend, do some activities, or even taking a nap!

Traveling is my favourite.  I've imagined myself going to all these places because a getaway is needed for everyone!  See the world, see their struggles, see their culture, see the different lives that people live and I guarantee that leaving a new destination is already a change. It's important to plan out your trip but don't forget to save a day to just relax....I think of laying in the sand and relaxing!

Good change is showing you're better off showing happiness than weakness.  You may not realize, but people will see it in you and look at you as someone who knows their self worth, and as someone who has rewarded them self with whatever it is they've been through.

It Shines Through :)

Signs of Infidelity

Okay ladies, let’s be honest, being committed to someone is not always easy. Relationships have their ups and downs. However there is a golden rule that should never be broken! And that’s faithfulness. Never ever forget it. Regardless of the situation or hardship your relationship may be going through; it is never okay to allow a guy to hurt you, just as it is not okay for you to play around and hurt him. Most of the time women are blinded by love and don’t realize that their man is playing them, or other times women know that their man is cheating but they just hope and pray that their man will soon come to his senses. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes a man realizes what he may loose and  does comes to his senses. But whether or not to give him another chance would be a complete personal decision. Now I know you're probably wondering how would I be able to tell if my boyfriend/husband is cheating on me? Here are a couple of eye openers.

Another woman’s things: Smelling another woman’s perfume on him, finding lipstick smothered on him or his shirts… or finding something feminine in his car that doesn’t belong to you (this one by far being the biggest eye opener!)

Surprising business trips or work activities: Yes I understand that sometimes business trips or work related activities do pop up, that’s normal. However having them pop up on a weekly basis seems kind of sketchy, especially when these occurrences happen within less than 24 hours.

Dressing to Impress: If all of the sudden your man starts dressing up, putting on lots of cologne every time he goes out (without you), he might just be trying to impress someone else! Let’s us not be fooled ladies.

Commitment and resolution: It is always important to see how committed your man is to you and the relationship. If you feel like you’re the only one trying to work past your issues and he is not trying, it may be because he wants out (most likely because he has someone else.) Always keep in mind that it takes two people to make a relationship work and one to mess it all up.

Alright, these are just a couple of signs to be aware of if you feel like your man is not being completely honest or truthful to you. If you are currently going through this situation, stay strong, and make sure you put yourself first (in other words, state your ground; especially if you decide to give him another shot!) Now if you have an amazing man by your side make sure you show him how much you love him, sometimes reassurance is necessary.
