So let's talk about the classic brush, well, because it's a classic! We've  definitely all seen this brush, and have probably owned one in your day. The classic styling brush typically has a slightly rounded head that creates a slender curve when blow drying your hair. It can be found with five, seven or nine rows, typically made of nylon bristles. This is the ultimate brush choice when you desire sleek, smooth locks that have a little bit of curve and personality.

The vented hair brush has been a favourite for years, and is also the brush that created some of Hollywood's favourite classic hairstyles, including Farrah Fawcett's winged locks. The vented hair brush bristles are typically spaced out fairly wide with extreme flexibility. There are large holes throughout the brush, allowing air to flow through when you are blow drying. This is the ultimate brush choice if you're looking for a quick hair dry, that will add volume and shape.

Round brushes are growing more popular by the day. Instead of grabbing curling irons and hot rollers, hair enthusiasts are choosing the healthier option which is the use of round brushes to create style and curls. Of course, the round brush is exactly what it says it is.... it's round! Go figure, right? These hair brushes are typically made of wood or plastic and are the ultimate tool for creating nice, crisp curls. The size of the brush will determine the size of the curls, so play around with different ones to get a whole variety of looks.

Choosing the right hair brush can feel beyond overwhelming. It seems like you have a million and one hair brush brands staring down at you, with different colours, different bristles, different shapes and they all claim to be the best on the market. If only we could go back to the days of being five years old and not knowing how important a good brush is, right? The days where we would use whatever mommy or daddy handed to us. Well, there's no point in living in the past. We're older and we're wiser and hey, if I had known the importance of a good hair brush at the age of five, I would have opted for something other than the $2 comb that my far from knowledgable, short-haired parents had. Oh, the olden days when you didn't have the internet to tell you everything that you need to know about life, eh? Thank gawd for the invention of  the wonderful world of the web so we can now learn the top three things to remember when choosing the perfect hair brush!

Whether you're looking for a hair brush to curl, or a hair brush to straighten, or something simply to detangle your locks, there's most certainly a brush for you so don't panic when you walk down the hair aisle, or hair tab for you internet savvy, online shop lovers.

You want to think of the type of bristles that you want. Each have different price points and you can get a brush for as low as $1, and as high as $100! Now, don't panic, ladies. You can most certainly get a great hair brush for a lot less than that and it all depends on the type of bristles your brush has. You can get nylon, plastic, metal and even boar bristles! It all depends on your needs of the hairbrush so brush up on your bristle knowledge before you shop for your next hair brush!

Now, let's be serious, there are a heck of a lot of hair brush style out theres and if we went through all of them today, well.... it'd take a lot more than just one day. Instead, I have categorized the hair brush styles into four categories and they are; the classic brush, the vented brush, the round brush and the cushion brush. You need to know what each style of hair brush offers, so you can choose the right one for you.

If all else fails, then read the brush. If it's worth your purchase, the packaging should definitely tell you what the hair brush is meant to do, how it's done and directions on achieving your goals. Have your budget in mind, follow these tips and read the label and well, you're well on your way to choosing the perfect hair brush for you, and well, plenty of good hair days are in your near future, that's for sure!
