Three Go-To Hair Care Products That You Never Need to Switch Up

As always, there are new hair care products popping up on the shelves of your favorite drugstore shelves, and on the computer screen of your favorite online store (FlatIronExperts, obviously). The confusing thing is that you often have no idea where to begin. This project says to do the exact same as the other, and that one says to do the opposite of what that one says. It can get frustrating when you find all of these new hair care products. So, I've made it my mission to take care of the confusion, and list the ultimate products that you will never have to update to a newer version. Now, don't get me wrong. Some of these products aren't new - And some are. However, whether it was released yesterday or last year, all of your hair care product problems are about to be taken care of.

Aussie "Freeze" Hair Spray
I swear by this stuff. It's like a hair care bible. The Aussie line is a frugal one, but I don't opt for all of their products. Instead, I only stick with the Freeze hair spray. Often times, you find a hair spray that doesn't hold, or one that can fight off a hurricane but looks and feels as hard as a rock. The Aussie Freeze Hair spray is literally a combination of the two; a perfect middle. It holds your hairstyle and doesn't leave it stiff and unnatural looking.

KQC Heat Protectant Shine Spray
Now, let's debunk a myth before we get started. Heat Protectant spray will not ensure that your hair won't get damaged from hot irons. However, it will deter the extent of the damage that hair irons do to your luscious locks, and this product should never be skipped out on. The KQC Heat Protectant Shine Spray is a favorite for many reasons. It doesn't really have a smell once it's on your hair which is awesome because the combination of scents from your shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, etc. isn't always a pleasant one. In addition to the protecting element, the KQC Heat Protectant adds a natural shine that makes your hair look hot! No pun intended.

Chaz Dean Wen Conditioners
I usually don't place too much importance on the selection of daily hair shampoo and conditioner that I use. However, I always play emphasis on the intense conditioners and leave in treatments because to me, that's the stuff that really gets down to the roots to replenish your locks. I always use Chaz Dean Wen products when it comes to a deep hair repair therapy. I sometimes switch it up from products within his line, but trust me, Chaz Dean Wen products are phenomenal. They are a bit pricier, but worth every last cent.

So forget about the generic and newer versions of products that are filling your local drugstore shelves, and stick with products that you know that work for you and your hair. These are my top three, and if you are looking for some fabulous hair, these products will definitely get you started with just that!

Online Shopping

Online Shopping

Hello ladies, how are you all holding up on this beautiful Friday night? I hope all is well. In today's blog I want to discuss online shopping. If you have a habit of shopping online then this is a blog for you. If you've never or rarely shopped online than you will find this blog helpful. Let's take a look at some tips and ideas about online shopping.

The Website: Okay, depending on which site you shop on things will vary. If you shop on a store website, you will always be able to pick which ever size you need, and be able to return it or exchange the item if it doesn't fit. If you shop on Amazon, you will be able to select the item you wish to purchase, however if you want to buy shoes from amazon you would have to see what shoes they have available in your size. When it comes to shopping on eBay, it's a bit different. All the things you buy are final sale. As you can imagine, it gets tricky when you buy something and it doesn't fit! What to do then?

- Gift/Sell: If you purchased something that doesn't fit you, and you can't return or exchange, give it away as a birthday present. Or if no one’s birthday is coming up or you don't know who would fit it, sell it on a garage sale or online.

Habits: Okay, many things we do become habits, online shopping is a bad habit to pick up on, because most often than not you'll end up spending more money than you wanted to. What to do to avoid overspending online?

-Pick a Day and Set a budget: Don't shop just on any day, pick a specific day of the month in where you wish to make an online purchase. It's also ideal to set a limit to what you wish to spend. I know it's hard to set a limit on things, but sometimes it's necessary. Another thing you can do is alternate your money between regular shopping and online shopping. Always check to see what would give you a better deal. Be money smart ladies!

Okay, that's all I have for today. I hope you all have an amazing weekend and get lots of rest. Have a goodnight

Becoming Fashionably Knotty ;)

Readers, I think its about time for us to add a little bit of knottyness in our lives.

I love fashion but fashion unfortunately can get a bit pricey. And while I am sure to always look chic and fitted, I'm not keen on spending all my money for this goal. I know how to use subtle items to make my outfit feel new.  So be a smart fashionista and learn the right and easy ways to make your current wardrobe feel fresh.

This week's smart fashionista accessory: Knotty Scarves

Scarves are the perfect accessory to add some zest to your school, work, and daily outfit. No, I'm not just talking about wrapping it around your neck. And while a neck scarf with the correct material and design can definitely complement an outfit, there are so many other ways and different locations to tie a scarf that can add some style to your outfit.

Knotty Belt

Front
Back

  • Take a scarf with a material that is the polar opposite of your outfit. Is your outfit bright and textured? Select a solid hued scarf or a scarf with a single color spectrum. Is your outfit more reserved and subtle? Select a scarf with some traffic and color to draw the eye. For this style, be sure the scarf is fairly wide and long.
  • Place the middle of the scarf at your belly button.
  • Draw the ends around your back and loop to the opposite sides, bringing it back to the front.
  • Turn each end one or twice over to create crinkles and tie in a small knot in the center.
  • Adjust back to add some texture and dimension. Keep front smooth.

Bow Me

A wide scarf that has a medium of different parallel shades works best for this design.

  • Fold in half.
  • Loop through belt loops.
  • Position ends where you would like bow to be. Make sure ends are same length.
  • Tie a bow. Keep middle part loose.
  • Let bow hang.

Hang Loose

Looking to add some design to a boring belt?
  • Tie belt backwards so the plain side is on your stomach and the buckle is on your back.
  • Place the middle part of the scarf on top of the belt and loop through side or front belt loops.
  • Let hang.
  • Keep scarf wide in the back, scrunch to add some texture.

Remember, being fashionable isn't about how much you have, its about knowing how to work with what you have. Be fresh, be new, and be a smart fashionista!

Parasitic Relatioships

Hello ladies, I hope you are all doing great and that you all had a relaxing weekend. In today's blog we will discuss, what I like to call, a parasitic relationship. The name will make sense by the end of this blog. For now, let's us define the word parasitic. As you probably guessed, it's not a pleasant word. In fact, what a parasite does is drain the hostess from her/ his nutrients. In other word ladies it's a take all type of relationship and the parasite doesn't give you anything but sickness. But how can you know if a guy will act like this? Let's take a look.

First Date: Alright, be alert on the first date. It's your first time going out with this guy; he should really be trying to sweep you off your feet. That means, he will be the one paying the bill. He should also be on his best behaviour and very attentive to you. If he fails to do that on the first date, what will he be like in a couple of months, when he gets even more
comfortable? Always keep your guard up; you don't want to enter into a relationship with someone who's not very attentive and someone who is not even trying on a first date.

Emotional Roller Coaster: Okay, admitting things becomes more difficult when you're actually dating the guy. It's as if you need him. Ladies, watch out, this guy will say amazing things to you, and all of the sudden bring you down with his negativity. If you let this happen, you will find yourself in an emotional roller coaster. And, that's never a good place to be. Emotions are a huge part of our lives, especially when you make a decision based on your emotions; that's just never a good call. This guy will try to manipulate you in many ways, so watch out.

Dependant: I know we're in the 21st century and women are almost, if not equal to men. However, there are certain things about tradition that should not be forgotten. Back in the day, men set out for work and women were at home being housewives. In today's society, both men and women are entitled to play both roles. This means ladies, that it is not okay for you to maintain your boyfriend. It’s great to treat him every now and then, but don't let him depend on you for food and shelter. It makes a lot more sense if you guys rotate the payment or if he pays most of the time, like a gentleman.

Okay ladies, that is the blog for today. If you have ever experienced this or know someone who has, please feel free to share. Always remember that if you’re not comfortable with something in a relationship it is not okay.I'll leave you with these thoughts, have a lovely afternoon.

Treating Hair Iron Burns

I can't even count on two hands how many times I have clamped my hair iron down on my ear, or burned my forehead with a curling wand. The amount of times that haven't left a mark and I cursed something fierce is definitely uncountable, and the times where I put my hand down on the wrong place of the hair iron, or it fell and dropped on my leg or some other part of my body is too, a number far too high to count too. Certainly every girl who has ever used a hair iron or curling wand more than once has probably experienced these exact same beauty wounds, and although they can be called beauty wounds, they certainly are anything but beautiful. So let's stop walking around looking like a zombie took a chunk out of our faces, and start treating our hair iron burns because we know that they're inevitable. If only we could deter them completely, but we know that's not happening. This isn't a post about hair irons burning your hair. It's about hair irons burning you, and the solutions needed to take the sizzle out of your skin.

Immediately After the Burn Occurs, you must prevent inflammation. Grab some ice and wrap it in a washcloth or plastic bag and apply it to the burn immediately. Keep it on there for approximately 10 to 15 minutes, and take breaks, if needed, every couple of minutes.

Determine the Burn, and see whether it is first degree or second degree. A first degree burn will be red but no blistering, and a second degree burn will have the inflammation, redness and blistering. You likely have a first degree burn as a second degree one is hard to achieve from a hair iron - But it can happen.

Time for Treatment. Apply some Polysporin or another kind of antibiotic ointment to the skin twice a day to help the healing and to fight off any kind of infection from happening. If you do think you have a second degree burn, you do want to go see the doctor so you can get prescribed medication that is certainly required to treat such a severe burn.

Hiding the Burn is not as easy as putting makeup on the sore spot. In fact, this isn't recommended because it will become cakey on the burn and it will look like you have some kind of fungus growing on your face. At least if you leave the burn as it, people will know it's a burn, and not something funky. Instead, try to style your hair to cover up the burn marks, if they're on your face. For other parts such as your hands and legs, it doesn't really matter because it's not a burn on your face... Which sucks!

Now, try to be a little more careful next time. Of course, it is bound to happen again. It's the curse we get for putting an iron to our hair, but at least you now have the remedy needed to make it heal as fast as possible.

Changes and Relationshios

Happy Friday ladies, I hope your week went well. In today's blog we will be discussing change in relationships. People change (emotionally), and sometimes the person they are in a relationship with doesn't. When that occurs, what happens to the relationship? Can it workout, or will it end?

Change is the most natural thing to go through in life, it happens to all of us. However it is very different when it happens and you are in a relationship with someone, because the change that's happening is not just affecting one person. Sometimes being the one going through that change is hard, but we don’t realize that it’s hard for our partner too. Sometimes it’s a sign of maturity, and we realize that kind of person we want to be. Our partners may like the change and sometimes they may not; this goes for both parties. If you are going through this situation right now, talk about it with your partner; discuss the things that are going on in both of your lives. Sometimes, opening up about what's happening can be difficult, and it's best to do it with someone who you know loves and supports you. If your boyfriend is the one going through the change, observe him and let him know that he can talk to you. It's inevitable to avoid change. However sometimes the bad things that happen in our lives scar us, and as a result they change us. A lot of times people just get stuck, and don't know how to overcome the negative in their lives. If this occurs to your partner, give him time, advise him as much as you can, and guide him into the right direction. Most people will overcome things, however there are some people that will remain stuck on the negative in their lives, and can't choose to see things differently. If this happens with your loved one, you will need to decide on whether to stay with him or not. At the end of the day, you were there for him, and you laid all the cards on the table, yet you saw no results. So, what will it be? Will you leave him or see where things go in a couple of months? Breaks ups are always hard, it always hurts, especially when you have been with your loved one a long time, but things do get better. Always remember, if you tried your best to get your man back to reality, and he didn't do anything about it, there is nothing to question yourself about. In fact, you will be going through a change yourself and it's best to give yourself time, before you let anyone else in your life.

Okay, there you have today's blog ladies. I hope it was helpful if any of you are going through this, I wish you nothing but the best. Have a lovely, lovely weekend.

The Royal Skin Treatment: Achieving Kate Middleton's Glow

Kate Middleton has been splashed all over the media ever since Prince William showed his interest in this beautiful brunette. And with her exclusive royal treatment, Kate Middleton is able to purchase the best and greatest skin care available. And why wouldn't she? Think about how often we fret over a few zits and we only go to school and work. She is constantly in the spotlight, always being scrutinized, and always with a few paparazzo's in her face.

Kate Middleton's skin care is not cheap! Here is what her normal skin regiment include:

Karin Herzog's (replenished every 3 months, $848 annually.)

Professional Cleanser ($50) A dual action cleanser
and make up remover

Vita-A-Kombi 1 ($76) A patented anti-wrinkle moisturizer
containing 1% oxygen and vitamins A & E.

Vita-A-Kombi 3 Spot Zapper ($32) An essential spot treatment
targeting blemishes containing 3% oxygen and vitamins A & E.

Apply to problem spots, twice a day.

Oxygen Face Cream ($54) A medium weight facial moisturizer
containing 2% oxygen that regulates the skin and helps
combat break outs and blemishes. Apply twice a day.

Bee Sting Facials from Deborah Mitchell ($260 per session. Once per month is $3,120 annually). The bee sting treatment is known to be an organic and natural alternative to botox. This facial uses the bee venom to trick the skin into believing it has been stung. The skin then responds by sending blood, collagen and elasticity to the face causing the skin to look fresh and younger. It is suppose to smooth away fine lines and wrinkles.

Although the bee sting facials are a bit out there, the skin care regiment cost is not that bad compared to the Sephora, Ulta or alternative beauty chain supply store. And you have to remember that higher end products can equal better ingredients and manufacturing.

But to each their own. Why not splurge on these products once and see if they show any visible changes. If not, its just once. This is definitely better than purchasing mediocre products that don't work that well.
